This intensive course is designed for welders who seek to advance their skills in pipe welding using Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) techniques. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and extensive hands-on practice, students will learn the critical techniques required to weld pipe to the highest industry standards.
The course will cover:
- SMAW Fundamentals for Pipe Welding: Understanding electrode selection, proper setup, and application techniques for various pipe welding positions.
GTAW for Precision Welding: Mastery of
- GTAW processes, focusing on control and precision required for high-quality pipe welds, including the use of filler materials and the maintenance of a clean weld environment.
- Weld Inspection and Quality Assurance: Training in identifying and correcting common weld defects, and ensuring welds meet industry codes and standards.
- Safety Protocols: Comprehensive safety procedures specific to pipe welding environments.
Students will engage in practical exercises on carbon steel and stainless-steel pipes, under varying conditions and positions (1G, 2G, 5G, and 6G). Upon successful completion, participants will be equipped with the skills to perform high-quality pipe welds in demanding industrial settings,
preparing them for certification exams and advanced welding careers.
Prerequisites: Basic welding experience and knowledge of SMAW and/or GTAW processes are recommended.
